I bought this necklace from a local salvage store in my town, today. I paid 9 dollars for it.the chain is 19 and 1 half inches long and the locket is 2 and 1 fourth inches from the top of the bale to the bottom of the locket. There is a thistle motif on the locket and a thistle on each link of the chain. It is heavy. It looks like it is sterling silver, but there are no hallmarks anywhere. How can a piece this beautiful not be hallmarked?
Nice Victorian locket about 1880s
Thank you AGRAM.M. Thank you all for the love.
Vert Nice find! Bookchain and lockets like this are very sought after :-)
9$??? Thats a score and a half! Have you looked along the edges? I have a Victorian era Scottish brooch pendant with cairngorn stone and thistle thats silver but unmarked. I think that may be more normal than we think.
yes, themuse. i have inspected it with a loupe, and i can't find any hallmarks at all.
Beautiful!
This is simply beautiful:)
