    Not sure if this is a trinket dish or an ash tray. Tourist novelty item?
    I did an acid test on this (on the bottom) Thinking it was silver but to my surprise it was a bright red copper. I am very curious as to why it says "Wuerttemberg" instead of Wurttemberg or Baden-Wurttemberg as well. If anyone can date this I would be greatly appreciative. The crest is of the city to my knowledge from what I did find on the web so far. Maybe dates between 1812 to 1816. The reason I think it may date at that time is because of when the city's name (spelling) changed. I got this from an estate sale in Florida about 3 years ago. It was covered in years of ashes from cigars and cigarettes, literally had to chip it off.

    Left side is the seal of Sankt Blasien, and the right is Stuttgart (I think) and to the far right (second pic) Country of Württemberg?

    Top writing is STADT STUTTGART / bottom is WUERTTEMBERG

      The Umlaut can be replaced with an E .....
      Württemberg = Wuerttemberg
      Städtler = Staedtler
      König = Koenig

      Well, there is my "learn something new" for the day. I have never heard nor seen the word Umlaut. Thank you vetraio50 :) Now I don't have to be bothered by that E any longer. So this may not nearly be as old by any means like I thought.

      Thank you for the love too! You think I should get it cleaned up and restored to its copper glory? I do plan on keeping this.
