10 inch, fleur di lis, turning purple. I looked a long time to find the lamp I would love forever. Now to find her parts so she can glow again.

It looks like a lamp I just purchased and with the research i have done it is 1910-1929. Same idea only mine is more scrolled. The same company though. This lamp is suppose to take a burner number #2 will fit but the proper burner has a hinged top opens and closes.the whilte lamp co.grand rapids mi is what is suppose to goon it. they are available on ebay under kerosene lamp parts good luck..They also have two for sale just the bottom is scrolled like mine. 65.00 and up

sorry about the type o is suppose to reade White lamp co in grand rapid mi.

Thanks you so much. I suspected it as a #2 but am waiting for it to get here still. Didn't want to order parts till I could see it in person but I trust you're correct there. I will get a nice old hinged burner and try and find an old chimney that does it justice.
Also this lamp is turning purple so is pre-1915, from what I read, so that narrows the year down some. Maybe I'll see another one in a post someday.
Thanks again Vintage 53. I got this for just 35.00 on E Bay and knew it would cost extra for the parts but thought it was a real find at that price.

I found a #2 burner made by White Flame Co, $16.00, on my first look. One that matches the collar. Yeah!

The white lamp co.grand rapids MI
That is what will say on the original wick holder...google this it will tell you everything.

the chiminey that goes with that is clear with a wide fat all around bottom 1800's type they are shorter than the long neck ones.it seems to be crimped all around the top...

Thanks. I think it would look more balanced with the short fat style. Hope to find an old one but will get new till the right one shows up. The burner does say white flame co. grand rapids MI. I got lucky finding one on the first look.

This design does have lines on it that reminds me of the princess feather and the chimneys for those that are fat would look real nice on this. The burner I got had black around the wick slot, very dirty all over, and looked brass. It washed off down to the nickle or whatever metal the silver color is and has been plated over copper that shows around the top flame area, just a little. It really looks new if not for that little bit of copper and I am very pleased with it. The silver color goes well with the pale purple glass.
Someday, when I get it all together and a new wick prepared correctly, I'll post the finished set up.
I read the wick should be burned with kerosene the first time to get a nice char and then switch to oil for a nice bright, even, flame that doesn't smoke. I would really rather find someone who does this and knows what they are doing than make any mistakes. I am glad I read about it and not just assumed anything. All the old lamps I have ever had were already set up when I got them. It said the wrong size wick, too small, and the flame can travel down the wick to the fuel and explode. Good to know.
      Thanks vintage 53.

You had said mine looked "like" your. Exactly pattern wise or similar? I haven't clicked solved yet because I was not sure what you meant. I still haven't found another exactly like it when looking or what the name of the pattern is.
    12. vintage53, 9 years ago
yes mine is like yours only not purple but clear and the bottom id fancier other than that it is still the same company and year.ebay has one exactly like yours posted. 65.00 they run 110.00.
