Hello Fellow Collectors. Thought I might share this one with you all today. It's a combination of three things I normally look for in a timepiece, which most of the time I get one of the positive attributes, some times a couple and very rarely get all three.
This clock was produced by Smiths in Great Britain, circa mid to late 1950's . Composed of Bakelite casing and painted glass for the crystal to highlight the background of dial. The dial is a depiction of Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, the walking stick is an animated feature that waves as the seconds click off. The third feature is the one that takes the cake.... This alarm feature is a mechanical music box that plays the tune "Who's Afraid of The Big Bad Wolf". Put all three of these attributes together and end result is one of the best "Character" clocks I own, IMO
Thanks for looking and hope you've enjoyed seeing this particular piece from the "Horde"
Kerry
I love the subtle dial hands that do not take away from the graphics ...
Thank you bladerunner22, eye4beauty & inky for looking in...@ Eye4, they do seem to blend in better than most, agree keeps from distraction of the graphics

Oh WOW! Kerry, I think this has to be my favourite of all your clocks and watches. It ticks so many boxes. Animation, Bakelite and I love the painted scene (I've not seen that before) and the fact that it plays 'Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf'..well, that's perfect! :)
Fran, couldn't agree anymore....it has to be one of my favorite pieces, but I won't tell Red or Wolfie that, they don't need to know , might become a little snobby if they found out.... Thanks again Fran, very appreciated!!
I have one of these, it was my mothers and given to me to pass onto my children. The clock no longer functions, but the alarm still works and plays the tune. Does anyone know where I can get it repaired?
njglen, where do you live? That would determine where I'd suggest for service.
I live in the UK.
Thank you Thomas, PostCardCollector & Rmonster, very appreciated!!
Thank you PhilDMorris, always great to see you've been looking :-)
