Good day everybody Today I was sitting here debating on what to tackle ...well the first three photos are from an Ebay listing I won the other day. Watch didn't work, crystal was missing and hands had been broken off at the post. First thing was to tear the beast down and see what I had to deal with....okay, nothing seems to far out of whack. so tear into a touch farther....Yup, there's the problem....main spring drum had been messed with and wasn't seated in position correctly. Heck this far into the movement, tore down the remained and set pieces and parts in the denture cleaner tub and turned it on.
After that was done, started the reassembly process and serviced with synthetic oil as I went along. Came down to putting it back in the case.... but first needed to locate a set of hands and a crystal, the crystal wasn't to hard to locate...a set of Ingersoll "Whit" hands, that's a different story...so robbed a set of hands off era correct "Buck" and sat down and painted them white... pure entertainment for a blind old man... Well anyways, here's the end result...1934 "Blinking Eye" Big Bad Wolf & Three Little Pigs Ingersoll Pocket watch, in running order.

Ironic about that wolf, right ?
    5. kerry10456 kerry10456, 9 years ago
He's sending you a wink or two...The Best Part about this.....basically paid very little, used spare pieces and parts to make it run again, and several hours of "Therapy" that didn't have to pay for...all good

LOL,Perry, thanks for the support and the chuckle.... I need a few more "Smalls" to fill up some space, so while I'm stuck here at home, I've been working out of the "Junk" pile and this is what I'm ending up with....only 587 more junkers to decide which one to tackle next :-)

Trey, grab a cup of coffee and have yourself a donut or two. Thanks for stopping in and wonderful complement, I truly appreciate hearing those, since I'm sort of a nit-pick when I redo something, I don't want to make something that's "restored", but made to function and still be in the original aged condition...if you know what I mean. There's a difference if something is still in mint condition after so many decades and something that someone has attempted to make it appear to be so.

Thanks Mickey, it turned out pretty good, IMO. and all said and done I have less than 200 bucks tied up in it...might seem high to a view looking in, but we know the average price on these are several times higher than that for a working model.
