This painting came out of an old physicans house that was purchased as an estate. His wife was a collector of fine art, mainly modern. This piece is one of over 60 works I aquired as a lot. These works of art have been sitting in a dark, dusty back storage room forgotten for 6 years till I found them. Enjoy!
Tony Michael Vecchio
Oil, Mixed Media
“Our souls all come from the same paper, but that which makes us unique is the creases formed in the paper from all the folding and unfolding of experience.” - Krishnamurti
Tony has enjoyed a career-long long passion communicating with audiences by exploring visual and narrative connections through graphic design, art direction, and fine art disciplines. From painting carnival sideshow canvases and repertory theatre scenic sets at art school to careers in corporate and ad agency art and creative direction, Tony’s background in visual communications influences his fine art evolution.
His mixed media abstracts convey a subtle asymmetry by layering paints, textures, and elements of collaged ephemera into visually enigmatic compositions. His canvases and panels touch the imagination by gracefully altering imagery and meaning by devising a conceptual, yet familiar iconographic vocabulary honoring a wabi-sabi style tradition.
Vecchio’s work has been in numerous Northern California juried exhibits, art venues, and galleries such as Pro Arts, Off The Preserve, Visual Aids, JJ Brookings, Berkeley Art Center, as well as having large canvases leased for corporate and residential spaces. He also exhibits at the Blackhawk Gallery in Danville and Arts Benicia.
