I bought these two necklaces several months back, they were both in need of some TLC. Both of them needed to be restrung, I have another necklace a Myra Ikora on another post, that necklace was on a Silver chain. I sent away to the UK for two thin silver chains, the brass spacer I had to buy from the States.
Yesterday the spacers came, so I finally got down to work. The White Ikora necklace was strung on a fishing line, I decided to only use seven Ikora beads with three brass spacer beads in between. The beads that are left I'll Make into a bracelet.
The most important of the two is the Myra Krytall beads, this was more or less straight forward, I put one spacer bead between the Krytall beads, this is a full necklace. To me it looks wonderful.
Bluboi has written a very interesting piece about these type of beads on my other Myra Ikora forum.
To cut a long story short, the Myra Kystall beads were the more difficult to produce, so are rarer to find, I think both necklaces were made in the 1930s?

Nice work, Jean! I especially like your treatment of the Ikora beads. While my favorites are the Myra Kristall beads, the Ikora ones are lovely also. They come in many colors (I have yellow, pink, blue). Quittenbaum, the German auction company, often has the Ikora beads in their Deco auctions, so if you search past auctions, you can get a sense of the many varieties.

Hi Bluboi, I hope I did the correct restoration with Ikora beads. There were far to many Small beads, I couldn't even start a plan. I decided to take the larger beads. This is the final effect, I like the necklace. I'm hoping with the rest of the beads I can make a bracelet we shall see how The bracelet looks.

I've collected Myra for years. It is only recently that I stumbled into the necklaces. I already have 4. How do you distinguish between Myra and Ikora beads?
I retur to these again wondering if my necklace can't be the same thing :). I see these came with no spacers in between the beads and from your text I understand at least one of them was not on a chain but on thread? Correct me if I am wrong :) I have a necklace with frosted glass beads that I feel have great quality to them and they have the same type of clasp as I have seen on some photos of necklaces made by them. I was then told they normaly are on chain and with metall spacers so I thought my necklace was not made by them. But now when I see your first photo of how yours looked before you gave them love and care then I wonder again about my necklace...
You did a pretty fine job and nice that you went for the metal or silver chain, which just adds so much more quality to the pieces, superb !~
