Hello Fellow Collectors and Visitors. I know I'm older than some folks here on CW, but many of you might remember Saturday Morning was the time to gather around the Television and catch some of your favorite cartoons. Since those earlier days, the Toons have changed, so I'll try and stir-up a memory or two, along with a smile if lucky, for you all today.
This little fellow is follow up character from the temple of "Quackers" from Tom & Jerry cartoons. He has changed a little from that original drawing to become the best buddy of "Chopper" the bulldog. He's been in most of Hanna-Barbera television shows, from Tom & Jerry to Yogi Bear and most in between..... Have you guessed his name? Well if not, here you go.
Yakky Doodle is a yellow duckling with green wings who lives with his best friend Chopper the bulldog. Yakky is always one to run into danger when it is most expected. This usually comes in the form of the show's main antagonist Fibber Fox or secondary villain Alfy Gator. Chopper defends his "Little Buddy" fiercely, and is always ready to pound Fibber or any other enemy into oblivion if necessary. Yakky's tendency to put himself in great danger never draws a rebuke from Chopper, who presumably enjoys his protective role. Yakky's catch phrase is "Are you my mama?" in a almostDonald Duck style voice. One of the songs Yakky loved to sing was "Ta-ra-ra Boom-de-ay.
This watch supports a Swiss made, mechanical single jewel movement with animated eyes, which rock back and forth as the seconds click off.
    Thanks for looking...
    Kerry

Flashback indeed, Kerry! I remember Chopper and Yakky as well. Cute little character. They just don't make cartoons like these anymore!

mdditalianusa, would love to see yours. I remember you had several very nice pieces you've shown me before. The Jay Wards were excellent examples if memory serves me correctly. Always good to hear from you. Have a nice evening

War4 Ken, yes sir, Lafayette watch Co. produced one in the early 1970's . I have a few other watches a couple people want to see, I'll try and post one for you in the next couple days, just haven't been up to par.
