    I don't have any prior history regarding this piece. My husband received this from his great Aunt who passed away 10 years go. It's 8" wide and 10.4" tall.

      Its Japanese more than likely Kutani very nice piece old Meiji period 1890-1910 would be my guess.

      This is a piece of Japanese Kutani ware. usually called a spill vase; somewhere in the back of my mind is just why it is called a spill vase. But is indeed Japanese and not Chinese.
