I don't know where this platter came from. I can just assume... I found it today while cleaning out my basement. I guess it is an 1800's platter. It is in good condition considering its age. I did some searches and saw a few out there. Just sharing...
would look a lot better full of chocolate cookies..... :-)
I think 1800s too. And I agree with Kerry
Haha!! You think chocolate chip cookies kerry10256 and robin56??? LOL I agree with you both! I think the platter is a little boring looking myself. We are having our neighborhood block party this coming weekend - maybe I'll fill the platter with the cookies and take a picture of it for you :-)) Thanks for the loves!
Thank you for the like GeodeJem and thank you for the love fortapache and Karen! :-)
The back stamp suggests a date between 1891 and 1897. The Meakin factory was in Tunstall, one of the five towns that became Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, England.
I am from Staffordshire and always pleased to see our pottery showing up in foreign climes.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge sklo40. That's interesting! I just love finding out about a piece! I am pleased to see your pottery here!! Thank you for the love as well :-)
