I believe that the material is silver. There is a small mark but I cannot figure out what it could be. I have seen similar bracets made in the early part of the last century but I am not sure if mine was made at the same time. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks for looking:)
Thanks a lot, SEAN68 and vetraio50:)
Stunning
Thanks for your kind comments, Zowie and valentino97. I will try to take a better photo:)
What a beauty! :)
Thanks so much, katherinescollections:)
I found it in the junk section of the store. I guess I was lucky:)
I learnt earlier today on a show I was watching if it glows brighter then silver & not marked it could possibly be Platinum instead maybe it could be this. I don't know if they mark Platinum.
Thanks for your comment, Zowie. I don't think it is Platinum. The bracelet feels, smells, and cleaned up like silver. It's hard to explain, but when I hold a piece in my hand I can usually tell if it is silver, even without looking at the back for marks. Sometimes I am wrong; but it happens very seldom. I posted it under costume jewelry because I cannot make out the mark and I have no means to test it.
In March of this year I traveled to Germany and went underground into an old silver mine in the Ore Mountains. The tour guide explained how one can tell if a piece of rock contains silver: Smell it! Unfortunately I didn’t pay attention to the kind of smell, but I have developed some sense for it when it comes to jewelry. It’s funny, isn’t it?
What a great thing to be able to do & the tour would of been a good day out. It sounds as if you enjoyed yourself. It was just a thought it's so brightly lit up is the only way I can think of putting it at the moment.
Thanks again for your comment, Zowie:)
My pleasure again
I have some Egyptian silver, and the silver mark is usually within a small square.
Thanks so much for your info, Efesgirl. There is a tiny square. You can see it on the second photo. But it is so small that I cannot see what it is:(
