i picked up this enormous and very heavy planter set at Urban Ore the other day. I can see these pieces sitting in front of one of the wonderful Art Deco / Art Nouveau building on Lake Merritt in downtown Oakland. I can't find a signature, but it sure looks like Gladding McBean. i'd love to get confirmation along w/ any other pertinent info. thanks!

This seller claimed it to be Gladding McBean.

Easiest way to find out is jump on their web site and use the "contact us" link. They can probably say Yea or Nay pretty quickly. They say their products are marked on the under side GMB in an oval. These may go back to the molds they bought rights to from Catalina Island Pottery when GMB bought out Catalina.

thank you walksoftly and flhrjr2! they are by GMB, even though they aren't marked. they are early - 1920s or 30s.
