I think Earl Sheib was in business from about 1937 until maybe the 1970's or 1980's?

On the back of the can it says: Earl Sheib says, "Since the start in 1937 I have painted over 5 million cars!"

Ah yes, I remember Earl Sheib in the 70's, or as we use to call him, "Earl Jive". At that time his.... "I will paint any car for 39.95"...., had risen to 99.95. So. I decided to have him paint my old 63 IH Scout 4x4 beater, and the price rose to near $200 after the estimate. I declined, and a few weeks later spoke with one of his many ex employees about their secrets. He said they bought the cheapest paint known to mankind, in 55 gallon drums, did not believe in proper sanding , and used gasoline for the final wipe down, before they sprayed it. I also remember everything was extra, like door jams, rocker panels, etc. except for the "Over Spray" which was on the house.LOL Nice Find, and Great Conversation Piece of the Past!
