Found this today on the floor in an antique shop in south Jersey. Beautiful dark green in color, very thick-walled, and decorated with threading on the neck. Unpolished pontil mark on the bottom. I don't know a lot about glass but I am sure I've seen similar pieces in the book by Helen and George McKearin, "Two Hundred Years of American Blown Glass."

Wrong, this is a middle eastern piece. It is a water bottle for carrying on a camel. They made them over a long period of time. Could be a hundred years old, could be 250 years old. At auction they should sell for about £100. That's more in dollars. I have 2 but mine look a bit more turquoise. They are pretty rare but have a limited market.

lovedecanters, you are correct. I believe this to be a Persian piece. I have seen one, nearly exact, in the book "American Glass" It is a saddle bottle. Thank you for clarifying.
