    I can't say for sure what this is, but the store had it labeled as an, "Antique Plumb Bob." I can't say that I agree. Based on the pictures I would think it was some type of closure plug or cork for a wooden keg or canteen of some sort. Please let me know what you think!

      could be plumb bob or top; what does top (opposite pointy end) look like for attaching string for bob?

      This is a plumbers tool. It is used to expand the end of lead pipes to join them.

      I tend to agree with slapjack. Too large for a toy, and there is no real way to spin it other than by hand. Plumber's tool makes more sense. It is a neat piece, either way.
