    I inherited this lantern and am having a difficult time identifying it. There are no markings, it's heavy, weighing in at 7lbs, 11 oz, stands 16" not including handle. Any thoughts??? Thanks!

      It's a portable switch signal kerosene lamp for railroads.

      I wish I could add more. Those sorts of kerosene lanterns were still in when I was young. I lived near a passenger terminal/train yard in the 50s. I'd bet your lantern is older.
