A pair of Whitefriars wrythen carafes with dimples and featured neck collars.
I have previously described this pattern of glass as John Walsh Walsh, but the references to them being Whitefriars now seem to out weight the references to them being John Walsh Walsh in number and authority, so I am going with Whitefriars.
I have added a picture of the decanters I have previously listed, so you can see they are a part of the same service. I also have tumblers, glasses and a jug from this service.
HANDSOME !!!!
very attractive pieces! what is age reference for them? they look older than 20th century to me.
The book Decanters 1760-1930 by David Leigh, lists a decanter from this service as being circa.1900. I have seen so many of them around I suspect they were churned out over at least 20 years, so I think they must have started earlier, and probably finished production with the commencement of WWI. There are other similar kinds of things where I know they started in Victorian period and were still manufacturing into the 1920s or 30s.
