I bought these 2 pipes from a friend 15 years ago when he needed some extra cash. He told me he bought them at a flea market in Northern Kentucky. The larger one is quite heavy. Probably ironstone. It has a greenish hue and looks like a leaping bear in the face but, has a wide tail over the tube pipe protruding from the rear. (Bears don't have tails like this.) The smaller one is steatite and was possibly made by native Americans or early white Americans who learned the process from native Americans.
