Stuart Crystal Cocktail Set

This is a Stuart Crystal cocktail shaker and and four glasses in the Stratford pattern with enamel cock fighting scenes. There are flowers enameled around the shoulder of the cocktail shaker and a single flower under the base. The base of the cocktail shaker and the stem and foot of the glasses are in amber glass. Made circa 1930s.

The scenes on the glasses are rather gruesome as they work through the fight until one cock kills the other. It is more normal to be slightly more romantic and just show cocks squaring off to each other, but this shows the conclusion of such battles. A bit non-PC as this has activity has been banned for decades in the UK.

The Stratford pattern with the moulded ridges kicked off in 1921 and was in continuous use until the 1970s. A simple but classic design in my book.
