I've been staying off the Flee-bay market lately, but did a little browsing and found a lot of 18 mechanical Mickey Mouse watches for auction, opening bid was $25 bucks, well looked through what was there and seen a few "Goodies" in the lot, all watches were vintage and fairly good condition by the photos, 17 of them were we worth the opening bid almost by themselves. So long story, I opened them and forgot about them, until I received invoice for 30 bucks... opening bid and S/H.... WOW, no other bidders. Now the proud owner of 18 pre 1976 Mickey mouse watches....I'd I bet you dollars to donuts, most are runners. So at less than 2 bucks apiece, I'm pretty happy. I see some from the late b40's-50, the 60's and the 70's...
Thanks for looking and see if you spot the best Goodies in the lot

Ok let me try this ... Picture #1, first and fourth from left .... Picture #2, second, fourth and fifth ... Picture #3, not sure ... Picture #4, each one looks unique ...
    6. kerry10456 kerry10456, 9 years ago
Thanks Trey....that's a 1970 "Hippy" Mickey, he's wearing bell-bottoms and string leather Jacket holding a flower....
    7. kerry10456 kerry10456, 9 years ago
the other is another variant of same...but they are commonly called The "Hippy" Mickey LOL
    8. Trey Trey, 9 years ago
I figured it was disco Mickey LOL or Saturday Night Fever Mickey:)
    9. kerry10456 kerry10456, 9 years ago
LOL, both are different in that holding a flower in one and a sign with the word "LOVE" on the other....there are animated variants of these also, were the flower waves back and forth as the seconds click off

Great buy. #3 is picture 1 has a sideways Mickey so it is either extra valuable or a knock off.
    13. kerry10456 kerry10456, 9 years ago
Thank you Mani and fortapache... @ fortapache, that is a 1952 Ingersoll, when someone in the past has worked on it, didn't get the dial in right spot before reassembly, lol

that's cool you can sure pick up some hidden goodies in those watch lots I did 2 last week
    15. kerry10456 kerry10456, 9 years ago
Thanks Mickey and WARWAGON64, I'm sure I can have most if not all of these up and running in the matter of a couple days...The best of the group IMO is the English Ingersoll LTD pocket watch with sweep second hand....hard to bet a good English made pocket watch... there's a couple "Bubble" Bradley's and a couple Birthday edition is the lot, so all in all 2 bucks apiece...no complaints here :-)
    16. eye4beauty eye4beauty, 9 years ago
Picture #3 ... Based on these, I picked a similar one yesterday ... Mine seems to be a Bradley Swiss "Pie Eye" ... info absorbed from the bay ... Wow, can there be any more versions ?
    17. kerry10456 kerry10456, 9 years ago
Good Morning Eye4, oh my yes Bradley got the contract from Disney Jan 1971 and literally flooded the market from that point on with tons of different variants, sizes and shapes....I'll be watching for your newest find

These character watches are very interesting. I started b.s. with a guy who worked there and said his mother-in-law lived with him and collected what he called "the rat" ... I told him they were perfect for collecting on many levels ...

You betcha, not to mention the "Fun" factor...sure to always get a reaction of some sorts no matter where or who might be present. Some of people that have the best opinions and comment are usually the last ones you'd expect to be interested
