    lovedecant…
    (237 items)

Here are two John Walsh Walsh wrythen and dimpled decanters, one full size and one miniature. The both have four dimples to the body and stoppers and four sided frilled pouring lips.

I don't have much that I can definitely say this is by John Walsh Walsh, but I can with these as they are in the John Walsh Walsh book.

Are you sure because they are also in the Powel book. Do they have numbers etched on the bottom of the stoppers?

I have loaded a picture from the book, The Glass of John Walsh Walsh 1850-1951, Eric Reynolds (ISBN 0-903685-74-4). and you can see it is the exact same pattern. I have both of the Whitefriars books and don't remember seeing this decanter in them. Neither of mine have numbers to match decanters and stoppers, but Whitefriars was not the only manufacturer to do this. These are the only decanters I have with lip turned up on 4 sides, so this is a very unusual feature.

Oh yeah. You can see they are clearly the same. I have a pair I always thought were Powell (+ plenty of glasses). I'll have a look & see if they have the upturned lip. Also, I think they might be a different shape, maybe with a foot?

They are great BTW, I love the wobbly shapes.

Jewels1900, I have loads of glass reference books and auction catalogues. If you post them I will try and ID them for you. I have 5 different kinds of wrythen dimpled decanter, but I know there are loads more styles out there.

Thanks for the offer lovedecanters. Now that I look at mine they are quite different. More stylised not quite as lovely and wobbly as yours. I'm pretty sure mine are Powell poppy head.

My thing is arts & crafts which is why I love the Powell & Walsh glass. But I don't know so much about it. Just tend to buy what I like & what I can find when it comes to glass.
