Hand Carved German Pipe late 1800s

This pipe was owned by my German Great Grandfather. It was probably purchased in late 1800s in Cologne Germany. It has a hand carved wood burl with intricate figures. Silver cover on top of bowl in the shape of a sea shell. Stem appears to be cherry wood and is missing mouth piece. Any information would be greatly be appreciated. I also have others that I will post shortly.
