I've had this for some time but have found it difficult to photograph. I've tried several times before these! I think it's meant to represent an Arum lily, and so the top is both clear and white. It shines blue when placed against a dark background, and actually more than I've captured here.
It's much bigger and heavier than I imagined them to be.
Length 24 cm./9.5 inches Height 14 cm./5.5 inches
So here I was thinking you might have more floriforms and I went back and reviewed your posts.
Crikey Peggy!! When I saw them all together man have you got lots of gorgeous glass!!! And now adding this? Spoilt!!! Lol
What a lovely comment, Karen, very pleasing. I think this is the only shape called 'Floriform' because the flower is the vase......and I only have one! There, I'm not spoilt.....but I'd like to be :-)
You know Sklo and racer I had never see one.. wonderful flowers
Terrific piece, Peggy! I think it is an arum, too. Or possibly a Dracunculus vulgaris (Voodoo Lily) due to the crimped flat edge. And quite an unusual floriform; I have never seen one like this before, and I keep an extensive file of floriform images. Very nice!! :)
This is particularly beautiful because it gives an image of a real flower, not a sofisticated (sometimes) figment of maker's imagination. The colours are so delicate...And it's getting more thanks to your photos!
@kivatinitz....thank you for the compliment....I too saw my first floriform on CW!
@Michelle....thank you too for the compliments....and for your horticultural knowledge, which I trust.
@Ivonne.....thank you for your lovely comments. It is a rather understated floriform but I confess I'm surprised to have one at all.
Thank you for the loves, vetraio, smiata, kerry, racer, mikelv, aghcollect, VioletOrange, Justanovice, kivatinitz and Michelleb007.
I've been away too long. You've posted some amazing glass while I've been gone. This is another fabulous piece, i think, my favourite, uranium and it looks so alien, the Triffids are alive and well!. I bet it looks amazing under UV.
Ahh I've just read its a real plant, lol. Amazing.
