I'm trying to identify this helmet. Please help. I got this from a storage auction. I'm trying to identify helmets with the same. Medal on it. I can't find it anywhere online.

Check out North Vietnamese Army (NVA) Helmets. Insignia looks like North Vietnamese Naval units.
Chris
Hi chris,
I found something similar but not exact like this one. Mine has the blue background I only see red. Any other suggestions? Thanks
Red would be army. Blue with a red anchor would be navy, which is harder to find.
The North Vietnamese Army and Navy used the same kind of pith helmet, but usually the Navy ones are found in white. I assume that some naval forces would have also worked where green was more appropriate, or perhaps the insignia and helmet were put together by the veteran who brought it back, since the insignia looks sideways.
Either way, I think you have a desirable helmet. I don't personally collect Vietnam era, but there are many who do.
Genuine Vietnam wartime pith helmets did not have labels in the dome, nor were the liners plastic.Original liners were of a green canvas material, and with age curl up and become hard.An original naval pith helmet badge is difficult to find since their navy was small. There are many newer badges on the market claiming to be older. And yes, most naval helmets are painted white.
Good to know thanks
Thanks for the education, stepback!
Welcome to CW:)
Thank you

That's the Navy's pith helmet. The army wouldn't know what to do with an anchor.
I couldn't find a net example of the helmet, but I remember that insignia real well.
