This is an Ingersoll "dollar watch" advertising The Evening Telegram newspaper of Portland, Oregon.
The Evening Telegram of Portland, Oregon was a local, Republican-leaning newspaper founded in 1877 by Henry L. Pittock. In 1931, the Telegram merged with the Portland News, creating the Portland News-Telegram, which in turn ceased publishing in 1939.
The Telegram Building, a red brick & terra-cotta structure culminates in a colonial-style clock tower. A major renovation of the building was completed in 2004 to accommodate multi-tenant office space.
The Telegram Building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.
Kerry posted his Ingersoll advertising the Saturday Evening Post and asked me to post some of my advertising ones, so this is the first one.
Thanks for looking,
Dave
You betcha, there's a cool advert watch, Thanks Dave for sharing...great post
Thanks Kerry, I thought you might like this one. It's not a (1) one-jewel watch like yours though.
I only have about 4, maybe 5 of the single jewel movement one....bet if we post enough "Dollar" watches, we can get new sub-category lol
Between the two of us, we probably could post more "Dollar Watches" than all of the watches in the sub-catagories they currently have!!
Would bet so....wanna see? lol

Way -Way cool. Anytime history can be preserved it is a wonderful thing...
Just one question. Is the Clock Tower, working?
Thanks ekim for the comment & appreciation. It has been many years since I have visited Portland, Oregon, so I do not if the tower clock is still working.
