Antique 19th copper bed warmer. Gorgeous hammered repousse work showing a medallion.Wood handle.
Signed by the famous French copper factory Villedieu.
1/I'd like to identify the profile ,
    is it Hermes ?
2/As concerns Villedieu marks inside a "Viking" ship, EH or HE monogram. Do you know the name of the artist?
    Thanks

I wonder if it is Helios..the Sun God..giver of life..the two flowers front and back....he seems to be in the centre of a sunburst and then there are the birds all around around him that may be a Phoenix which also has connections with the sun....I think it is the most beautiful bed warmer I have ever seen...I have two lovely copper ones and they don't compare to yours...lovely!!!
