Well this chap came to me recently from a shop I happened along when working. I know nothing about it whatsoever, only that he is 15cm tall with a shiney (gloss type) glaze. I'm sure there is a professional term for that but hey, I'm new to this so you will have to put up with my descriptions until I learn more! It looks maybe 50s/60s by the modelling. No marks on it at all, just a creamy white base with a small hole in it. Any bear experts out there who can enlighten me as to who may have made this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all, and Hi - Hamish
It's very so cute I love it
Hi, I'm pretty sure that your bear is just like one I saw on Etsy. It's listed as a Vintage Lomonosov Russia USSR 1980s Standing Brown Bear Figurine. It looks like the same one. I think it was somewhere around $14-$15. Hope that gives you a start on finding out about it.
He sure is lovable.
Thank you very much for the comments, and reneewv especially. You're right, definitely the one. Odd there is no mark, is this uncommon? Most I have seen have a mark on the base.
I'm glad I could help. I'm not very familiar with them unfortunately. He is nice though.
It's common to see the mark rubbed off on these. It probably would have carried a red/orange 'Made in Russia; or 'Made in USSR' mark depending on the age.
Thanks tigerchips. That explains that!
Its a gorgeous little bear, keep it because you obviously have an eye for things of beauty x
