I found this piece at a garage sale it is solid wood it doesn't appear to have any markings on it. Can anyone tell me anything about it?

I believe this is a phone chair. You have your phone on the top table and phone book underneath.

So I just found out it better known as a gossip chair!

I actually bought a new one about 15 years ago, it is a gossip bench, or phone table. Phones used to mostly sit on a flat surface, plugged into the wall, and was a permanent location in house. Has room for phone books under seat or on shelves. I remember these from the 60's !
