This lamp has been in the family for generations. I'm thinking it could be from the 1940's when there was a shortage of metal. The form is really elegant. Any hints as to what it could be would be appreciated.
The upward shining floor standing lamps are called torchieres, as they are a bit like a torch.
Looks a bit art deco to me could be 1930s. Of what is it made?
It seems like a shiny pot metal or Pewter. There is a little bit of corrosion on the surface. Maybe it's plated with a semi shiny nickel.
Figured it out. Mid-Century Brass Stiffel Torchieres. They were normally made in brass so these must be semi bright nickel plating making them very rare.
