My father in law came across this at a work site. He is very much into history and where things come from and I have been searching the Internet with no luck. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would love to find out more about this piece
Can you tell me was it buried ? I would like to see a side view so I can see hat please . She appears to be a stone bisque bonnet doll head Germany . Also can I see neck area .
She could be better quality than stone bisque and many were made by hertwig Co . Germany They had many many styles of bonnets . But will need more photos ok
Thank you so much for your reply I will add more photos right now.
I'm still trying to get the hang of the website. I might have opted a whole new link.
Dominika, the Edit function is off to the left, you can click that to re-open your thread and add photos.
Thank you for the help!
Good I will wait for photo's :-)
also add if she was buried since you can clean her ok
Yes she was buried pretty far underground. We haven't been able to clean her yet.
Yes she is circa about 1890-1900 Bonnet head doll , Her shoulder plate is broke of but in this case a cloth body could be brought up to neck and made back into a doll. She originally would have been on a cloth body . Ok I believe you could make her beautiful again with a soft cloth , q tips for tiny areas . Use damp cloth with a non harsh dish soap and gently beginning to remove layers of dirt . DO NOT rub hard it will take several times going over her . Use q tips gently over eyes, ears ect damp with soapy water and dab dry . I will wait to see her with white skinn and rosy cheeks . Very nice large size head and worth cleaning and putting her head on a body . Dab her dry after each wash using a soft cloth and also lay her on a towel as not to scratch her .

Wow, you have been a huge help! Thank you so much! I will do my best to clean her and the rest will be up to my father in law. Again, thank you.
Here is example of part of shoulder plate is missing on yours she is not exact but will give you idea of how she would look as a doll again
