So maybe the jewelry experts on here can enlighten me on this interesting little ring. No marks. It appears to be handcrafted, perhaps silver band, wrapped around what I thought was a slice of stone. But it wasn't cold or heavy, and looking more closely at it when I got home, it was striated on the inside. Could it be hollowed out bone or horn or tusk of some sort? Whatever it is, the coloring (if it is natural) is quite striking, in fact the whole ring is a striking piece of art, to my eye anyway. Appreciate any ideas, thoughts, theories, leads, on what this material might be. I hope you enjoyed seeing this, and thanks for looking.
[Listing in A&C jewelry, seems the closest fit.]
I wish I could help, but I know nothing about stones or jewelry. Just wanted to say that it's absolutely gorgeous!
Thanks for the love, reneewv, and for your lovely compliment! :)
I'm hopeful one of the resident jewelry experts will recognize the material, it's amazing what they can do just looking at a photograph! :)
Über cool Katherine!

Thanks, Mike, it is different, isn't it, thanks for loving it. :)
You are probably right about it being horn or tusk (shell is also a possibility). It's a very clever design, and it may have been made by a beginning or hobby artist with a big potential. I'd hold on to the ring if it were mine.

Interesting comments, Davy, yes, I was impressed by the design and execution of this ring. The material is really lovely, almost looks like tortoiseshell coloration. I hope I can learn more about it. And yes, it's a keeper. Thanks! :)
BEAUTIFUL!!!!

I'm almost sure it's horn. I suspect someone made it for his sweetie.
