Bought this from an op shop the other day. Very heavy, looks like enamel on brass 4.1 inches high from top of fan to outside bottom edge about 10 1/2 cm. 1.1 inches wide 3 1/2cm. Seems too heavy to carry on you. Really firm spring clip under the bottom of the fan bit. My Mum who worked as a seamstress in the fanciest Couture places in Melbourne in the 1940's and 50's says it's too heavy to be worn by a man or woman even on a coat. Mystery. No hall marks. I'm wondering, 1. what was it made for. 2. when was it made. 3. Is it Cloisonne? How much is it worth (but the money value is not what I'm MOST curious about). Any advice would be SO appreciated.
