I found this sign at my in-laws antique shop. They have no idea how they acquired it much less how it made it to Texas! Most likely among an entire lot purchase of European estate items from auction. Possibly in a desk or wardrobe mixed with other items, etc.
I have a feeling it is a pretty rare beer sign since I haven't been able to find anything else like it on the web. All I really know is that Worthington 'E' Draught beer was a keg bitter beer from the 1960's, quite popular and is no longer made. You can find Worthington White Shield in Britain though.
I'm convinced this sign was removed from a pub as some type of souvenir. It's a very heavy sign too! It has a thick metal back and thick glass front. Very simple looking but interesting still.
Worthigton E was a terrible beer served in the 1970's in Britain. It was appalling stuff but not as bad as Watneys Red Barrel or Long Life, now they would be signs to get hold of.
