Nothing special, just a simple silver and marcassite brooch I found today. Its stamped 835. I would date it to the fourties.
All women had at least one marcassite brooch in those days. If you ask me, all women had several of these brooches! Thats why these are so easy to find ;-)
Most common themes are flowers and lizzards, but you can find all kinds of themes if you look a bit further.
This specific flower brooch has lots of curls, making it a bit old fashion in the swirling art deco period.
There is something wrong with the trombone clasp, but nothing I cant fix.
Hope you like it.
It is very graceful :-)
Simply but graceful on a jacket or shirt.
Oooh , woman after my own heart! I'm a jewelry junkie and always comb kringloops/thrift shops and flea markets for goodies - and often find them. Trombone clasps were used up until the 1950s, but the design looks to be 1940s. Gonna look at your other finds.... :-)
Hello Efesgirl, thanks for your comments! Ik hou ook van kringwinkels, but most of my jewelry are flea market finds.
