This is one of my latest finds: A small (relish?) dish in a rather unusual pattern. The dish is in perfect condition. I am not familiar with that mark but I would date it anywhere from the 1920’s to the 1940’s.
Thanks for looking:)
Oh I love bird dishes, this is so charming, freiheit. :)
Many thanks for your kind comment, katherinescollections:)
OH MY GOODNESS what a lovely relish dish! I was curious about the date and pattern.
When I was researching a bit about your lovely piece I found:
RS Tillowitz was marked on porcelain by the Reinhold Schlegelmilch factory at Tillowitz from the 1920s to the 1940s. While the RS Tillowitz mark varied in shape and font after 1932, the mark was usually green.
Enjoy your beautiful dish.
That is gorgeous! Love the colors! I had never even heard of RS Prussia until today when I found a piece at mom in laws :) I did read that the animals, birds, portraits, etc are more valued by collectors because the florals are more common. Lovely piece freiheit!
Reneewv and JoyB, thanks so much for your comments and information. I usually collect Schumann porcelain but when I noticed RS on CW, I started to look for it and found a few pieces.
What a pretty sandwich plate you have here
Thanks a lot, Zowie:)
My pleasure again have a top day
Absolutely gorgeous, the bird on it, was ;European goldfinch, we have one in North America the yellow goldfinch.
