My husband has been moving dirt in our yard and has dug up the large "Shooter" size marbles. Someone said they could be "Indian Marbles" but we just don't know. Any ideas on these backyard digs?????? I have taken a pic with them by their self and a pic with some of my marbles next to them. I've included two different shooter size marbles and some regular size marbles to give an idea on the sizes which all vary slightly in size and shape. What are these wonderful (to me) spheres? Anybody????

Hopefully someone can help solve this mystery. Looking for possible answers as to what these larger shooter sized white marbles are? Please help if you can. Thanks so much.

I have many of the same. Grandfather passed them down to me. But what are they, and why were they used? I have heard the term shaman stones. These were found around Moundville, Alabama, I believe. I think I will return them and donate to the museum there. My nephew cracked one right in two with a hammer. Its solid white inside, the same color as the outside. Nothing within just one solid stone.

I found 2 of them on our land here in NM (dessert).....my husband did some digging to build a shooting range and I found them in a pile of sand he had moved.....they look exactly like the ones in the picture you have posted....been trying to find out what they are also.
