A great find...and set of 3!
I was unaware they were made as bobble heads and was happy to find them. In fact, a whole collection was there but I couldn't afford them all so with process of elimination (unfortunately) I grabbed the three that looked like they were meant to be together. Much to my surprise these are all from the 50's or 60's.
On the 'man', there is writing all around. Have no idea what the writing says in English. The 'lady' has a signature as well.
They found a perfect little spot in their new home!
Enjoy

Thank you for the love inky.
The KANJI writing on the kokeshi "man" reads GIYON KOISHIYA. GIYON is a district in KYOTO, an ancient capital of Japan, famous for its GEISHA entertainment. KOISHIYA means to "love" or to "miss". So, this kokeshi was made and sold in Giyon District in Kyoto to a tourist or visitor as a souvenir remembrance of their visit to the Giyon District in Kyoto. Hope that helps.
NevadaBlades, for a very delayed THANK YOU for your kind information! Many apologies. So often I get so busy I don't know which way to turn but as I was listing this item, I returned here to see if I could find the video I thought was connected. No luck there but the best luck was your comment. Thanks again!
Wish I could stay and chat, but as usual...gotta go!
