    My neighbor used this washboard until 1979 +/- a year to wash clothes, that's when she got her first automatic washer and dryer, I can still remember seeing her on the back porch every morning scrubbing their clothes, this was a daily ritual with her. In the 45 years I knew her, I never heard her say a bad word about anyone in all that time. She lived to be 100 years old and what made me love her even more, at Christmas time up until her 97th birthday she always made me homemade cookie's which I miss dearly and I always think about her at Christmas time.
