My father brought this home about 35 years ago. He was very proud of it, and called it his "Flash Gordon Helmet". Looks like the Marvel "M" on back and the number 27 is stamped into it. I can't find any information about this. Does anybody know what it really is?
Could be Thor's or the Rocketeer.
Thanks for the input, GeodeJem. I don't know how long Thor has been around in comics, but this helmet predates the Rocketeer. It looked just as antique 35 years ago as it does now. It has the look of the 1940's-1950's to me.
I would be very proud that helmet also! Anything on the inside? Does this look to be an adults item or more kid sized? This is very cool!
Rustfarm, I'd say small adult/large child size. Dad put it on when he brought it in, but it was tight. It's made of a thick rubber, so there's a little stretch available. I don't know if there are markings inside - I can't believe I forgot to look inside! (It's at their beach house, who knows when I'll get back down there to look ) There are two snaps below the ear flaps for a chin strap.
It is a buck Rogers Lightning Helmet
