      I like the patina. If you don't plan on keeping it, leave it alone and let the new owner decide.

      Patina tells time too...but dirt is not patina (in my opinion, some will argue that it is) so if it were my clock and I wanted to display it I would just clean (not polish) it well with something very mild, non-abrasive and with no ammonia. I would test on an inconspicuous area first. After cleaning, I would apply a good auto wax to it (case only). Nice clock. Thanks for sharing.
