I found this at an estate sale in Colorado. I've never seen a lamp base like this one. Does anyone know the history on it? It's made of cast iron and measures 6" long, 3 1/2" wide and 4" tall. On the wick turner it reads "applied for paten". Does anyone know where to find a glass top to this lantern?
A stove for heating household tools like sad irons, curling irons for hair, etc., it would have had a top piece, sometimes with mica sides. Google sad iron heater.

Thank you for the information TubeAmp. I'll google it now.
You're very welcome.

Does anyone know where to find the mica sides for this sad iron?
And you need the fuel fill cap too. (You would need the brand and model to even begin to look for a matching spare part, not impossible but it may take quite a bit of searching, challenging to say the least).
Best of luck,

There are no markings on the base of it. The only markings are found on the wheel that works the wick, and that says applied for paten. It must be one of the first that the company made. With that said, I don't know how to research it. It's very frustrating.
Not knowing what you have in this, it's not unheard of to find a complete one for $20.00. I love a challenge, but some battles are not worth starting ;)

Where can I buy one for $20.00? E-bay?
I don't know how to post the picture in this post, but I have one with the comb and the part standing up over the wick,it is so cool ,it is for straightening your hair
I would have never thought of it for that use. Guess I'll start looking for that kind of attachment. Thanks for the info. Have a good day.
