This is a pair of percussion pistols marked Spain with hexagon barrels. That is the only markings on them. They are .50 caliber. With the 2 1/2" barrel length and smoothbore barrel range would be about 10-20 feet. Perfect for gambling disputes although a large knife would be recommended for backup. They are rather crude but the typical gun buyer wants something that will go boom as cheaply as possible. This would have been it.
I am thinking circa 1850. There is a pair with brown handles like these at a relatively close antique mall but they have no information on these either.

The "Spain" markings would concern me.

Jury is still out FOR ME, but there is a chance these are not actual 1850s, although styled after that era.

The wood grip looks like it has age. A Close up photos of the hammer and trigger may reveal details.

I agree with Scott. The SPAIN stamp looks like a country or origin marking. This legal requirement dates to the 1880s in the US and UK. Of course it could be that these were manufactured earlier and imported later, but it certainly throws up a big red flag for me unless further information is found.

Yes the Spain thing has always bugged me too. I took one part way apart and I will post photos later. It looks old from the inside.

Everybody else can toss it about. I want to go shoot them! LOL! Better pix might help. Spain is known for fakes/repros.

Thank you very much blunderbuss2. They will fire although one has a broken trigger, it used to fire. I know about the Dennix nonfiring replicas and Uberti which is Italian.
OK I think I fixed the trigger and messed it up again.

Send the trigger to me & I'll make a new one for you.
