I recently purchased a top opening cabinet treadle machine. It has four drawers, two on each side, with metal handles and beautiful engraving on the drawer fronts. The machine lifts up by a chain as you open the top and, of course, goes down when you close the lid leaving a simple front with a modest design in the middle. The patent dates on it are 10/06/1891, 02/05/1898 and 10/25/1898. The writing has worn off but the imprint on the machine says "The Capitol". Other than that, I can't find any information on it to say who made it. Do you have any information on the machine? I've been searching the internet and can't find anything with "The Capitol" on it anywhere. Please help with information on this wonderful piece of history.
