Found this today and cannot find out what or where this is from. If anyone has any information to share so I can identify what it is I would really appreciate it.
It is about a quarter size. The front is ridged with the words "Krupp Stahlbau Werk Steinfort" with 224 in the middle. The back is blank.

Interesting find! What I can understand from googling, German company Friedrich Krupp owned the steelworks in Steinfort, Luxemburg from Sep 1942 to 1944 (obvious end year...).

Apparently he's done a lot of research around the plant. In the following essay I found he talks about caterpillars for tanks but it is a bit hard to follow.

It was by itself. My boyfriend was helping his friends landlord throw out all this junk in his basement and we came across it, in a bag, inside of another bag. Because of the German writing, I knew it was something....I just can't figure out what. I really appreciate the links and email. I will try to contact him. I spent about 5 hours googling the two items I found, so I am looking forward to viewing your links. I will post about what more information I learned. Thanks so much again!!!!!
Fun! Could be of significant historical value since the German company had so much trouble setting up the production, judging from the article, in that short time during WW2. Great to hear if you learn anything more! Cheers.
