Don't know anything about it's history measures 5 3/4" tall x 4" wide.Maybe from 40's or 50's Cast Iron never painted. I thankfully have been corrected, this is a bookend circa 1929 and stamped #802 Your help is greatly appreciated. Hey anyone got the other one? :)
would be nice if you added more pictures ...'-)
Will do appreciate your comment :)
Pretty sure that it's a Bookend and not a Doorstop. I have a pair of these "Chiefs" bookends somewhere in my storage room. RER (BOB)
It actually dates 1929 and the Native American Chief was the most popular theme used for Bookends in the USA. Are there markings on the back? RER
LOUMANAL, Thank You so much for your knowledge of the "Bookend" and yes I hadn't noticed, however there is a # 802 stamped on the bottom rear. Does that mean anything to you?
It's just a factory #. Many companies made similar "Chiefs" bookends in the 1920-30's and marked them with their production numbers. BOB
Thank you again Bob every little bit helps. Kevin
