A beautiful glazed hard paste porcelain ashtray turned up while digging up in the backyard of my Californian house for planting a small kitchen garden. It is intact. It bears the address and logo of the classic Palace Hotel, Bussaco, Portugal boldly written on it! Am clueless about the presence of an object from a five star hotel built in the past century in my garden.

What a nice thing to find in your garden - and in great condition, too!

Write to the hotel and send them a photo - maybe someone there can tell you how old it is.
