I am purchasing a Lane from the web, and the serial number looks off compared to what I see in other conversations on here. Can anyone tell me if this is authentic? Measurements are31Lx14/21Hx21W inches.
Thanks for any help you can provide=-)
Not sure what you need
Lane Rhythm series?

I am wondering if there is a way to tell, by the pics provided, if it is real or a reproduction? or just a fake? I've gotten burnt before and wanted to do more research this time. Just thought I'd ask here to see if anyone could lead me in the right direction as to its authenticity?
You read Lane serial numbers backward. 460590 = 09/05/46 for the date. If you go to the Lane web site you can figure it out yourself or contact them. They are quite helpful
Didn't think there were Lane fakes.
Just contact Lane ...
Fhrjr2 ...the 0 and 5 are transposed ?
So 460590 would read 09/50/64 ...
ok thank you both for your help!
How does 9/50/64 work as a date? That's what threw me off...
sorry I transposed the numbers
fhrjr2, thanks for your help, your transposing made it work as a date, but I cant figure out the corrected version of 09/50/64? any thoughts?
Well ... Stamping a ton of pieces backwards everyday ... Human error ?
The point is the numbers don't work for the Lane serial numbering system. That is why you should contact them. Should read month, day, year. 50 doesn't fit unless they happened to release the table before the error was found and possibly should have been 05. If I hadn't transposed then this would have been easier, sorry.
Agreed ... Did companies actually fake Lane ?
Look at the serial number on this piece ... The used a "9" and flipped it to make a "6"
