Thought I would post this old Razor from the farm. Still have the metal Box that the Blades came in. I think both of these are from around the 1960's era. What my Dad used ( RIP ). He said they gave the best shave!!

Nice to still have the vintage Metal Blade case too!

    Any other info welcomed!!

In the 1920's, 1923 I think, until 1936, Smith & Wesson, the iconic gun manufacture in the U.S., manufactured what they called "Blade Savers". These were stropper tools to hold the used blades so they could be sharpened on a leather strap, like a barber would sharpen a straight razor. They made 3 models, one for single edged blades & two for double edged blades. I'll have to look for mine and make a post for them.
      Thanks for sharing these,
      Dave

When I was a kid, my did had one too... I remember playing with it all the time... I found it cool opening and closing it. Yes, from what I understand, these provide the best shaves - at least compared to disposable - I don't know about a straight razor...
