I was cleaning up my Mother's basement and found these. I know they were found when this house was built in the early 1970s. They are very hard rock and as you can see there is a place in the middle to tie it to a stick or however they did them. They are rough and have not been smoothed out much at all. I just don't know anything else about them. I love looking at them and wondering about the hands that used them. If anyone can give me some information about them, I would greatly appreciate it.

      Better photos would be helpful.

Perhaps some close ups of each object.

Thanks, I thought of that after I had posted the original pics. I now have put 2 pics of each one. The first 2 are the same stone, front and back. The second 2 are the same stone, front and back. Don't know if this helps or not but I live about 30 miles South of Atlanta, GA less than an 1/8 of a mile from the South River. Again, I appreciate any information someone might have.

Take a very soft bristle artists brush and very lightly brush a small area and it will reveal some amazing artwork. Likely several layers of it. Sounds crazy, but try it.
