This lovely pendant is in ‘old’ Austro Hungarian style. Made of silver, features a big, central garnet with smaller garnets and mother of pearl around it. It has an ornamented back, but does not seem hand made. It's unmarked and I believe it may be revival rather than antique. It came with a belcher silver chain. Age is uncertain but it does look the part and is very pretty. What do you make of it?
Classy pendant! I love the shape and stones mix.
Agree with you for non fully hand made and beeing "old" style, but the belcher chain gives it the perfect look :-)
I love this pendant, I've been taking a keen interest in Austro Hungarian jewellery. The front looks the part, I'm not sure about the back, But it's lovely.
Thank you, kyra & jean for your comments, I'm happy you agree the pendant is lovely despite its lack of age :) Thanks also to all who sent their love.
You're right, it's recent manufacture imho. There are several companies in the USA and Europe that make good quality reproductions or antique style jewelry. The pieces may be marked on bale, on chain, or only on the box, which is a shame, since with a bit of time passing, it often becomes hard to attribute to the maker without having their detailed catalogues.
Thanks for the comment, davyd :)
